Henry Cavill Fans Take Over Jeff Bezos’ Replies

This isn’t the first time Cavill’s name has been thrown into the mix for Bond. He almost landed the role in 2006 when the franchise was rebooted with Casino Royale. Director Martin Campbell previously revealed that Cavill gave a fantastic audition and was a top contender—but ultimately, the role went to Daniel Craig.
“He looked great in the audition. His acting was tremendous,” Campbell recalled in an interview with Express UK. “If Daniel didn’t exist, Henry would have made an excellent Bond. He looked terrific—very handsome, very chiselled. He was just a little young at the time.”
