Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal praised the Modi government’s policies, stating they have uplifted economic standards and reinforced public trust through visionary leadership and effective governance.

Speaking in Agartala about the Union Budget 2025-26, Sonowal highlighted India’s rapid economic progress and predicted that the country would become the world’s third-largest economy by 2029.
“India is already the fifth-largest economy. With strong policies and infrastructure growth, we are on track to reach the top three by 2029.”

Boost for Women Entrepreneurs: First-time access to loans up to ₹2 crore for SC/ST women entrepreneurs.
- MSME Growth: Credit guarantee limit increased from ₹5 crore to ₹10 crore, supporting 4.78 crore MSMEs and 20 crore jobs under ‘Make in India.’
- Income Tax Relief: Individuals earning up to ₹12 lakh annually are now exempt from income tax, benefiting 5.65 crore middle-class citizens.
- Northeast Development: Major improvements in connectivity, agriculture, and horticulture, positioning Tripura as a key exporter of pineapples and agro-products.
- New Urea Plant in Assam: A 12.5 lakh metric tonne production facility in Namrup, creating jobs and ensuring urea supply for farmers.

Sonowal criticized previous governments, saying:

Sonowal reaffirmed PM Modi’s vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’, uniting India from Ladakh to Puducherry and Arunachal Pradesh to Gujarat.
