Maharashtra to Launch India’s First AI University
Maharashtra is taking a bold step toward becoming a global leader in Artificial Intelligence (AI) by establishing India’s first AI university. The task force for planning and implementing this project has already been formed, with experts from academia, industry, and government coming together to shape the vision.
State Information Technology Minister Ashish Shelar announced that the university would serve as a centre of excellence, focusing on AI research, development, and innovation. It will also encourage collaboration among industry, academia, and government to foster technological growth and skill development in AI.

The task force has already held two meetings and is now finalizing the roadmap to establish the university. The project reflects Maharashtra’s vision to become a global leader in technology and innovation.
